Star Judge on TVE: Cortes Takes a Seat on Dancing with the Stars

Joaquín Cortés makes his first appearance on a Spanish talent show: 'I accepted because I was excited to be part of a quality talent show'.

On 15 May 2018, La 1 de TVE premiered Bailando con las Estrellas with Joaquín Cortés as star judge. It was the first time he had agreed to take a seat on a Spanish talent show panel: “I accepted because I was excited to be part of a quality talent show,” he declared.

The format, presented by Roberto Leal and Rocio Munoz Morales and produced by Gestmusic with RTVE, brought together twelve celebrity couples before millions of prime-time viewers.

For Spanish television, a marquee signing. For flamenco, something more: the discipline was entering prime-time entertainment judged by its most internationally recognised figure.
