Esencia and Friends: Cortes Returns to the WiZink with Flamenco Across Generations
A new date at the great Madrid venue, with guest artists 'who carry flamenco in their blood'.
On 15 April 2021, Joaquín Cortés returned to the WiZink Center in Madrid with Esencia y amigos, the rescheduled event that health restrictions had left pending from the previous year.
He was joined by guest artists from the world of flamenco “who, like him, carry flamenco in their blood, keeping it alive from generation to generation,” with the capacities and protocols the moment required.
Twice in five months at the same great venue, in the worst imaginable context for live performance. Few letters of commitment to an art form have been written so plainly.
