Aubamar, art by the sea
An afternoon of art and play at Aubamar Palma Resort, on Playa de Palma: murals, sculptures and a green armchair that already feels a little like mine.
Some places welcome you with open arms; others also make you smile. Aubamar belongs to the second kind: art on every wall, impossible lamps, a garden that smells of summer.
I arrived not knowing it and left feeling I had spent the day at the home of a friend with very good taste. Every corner is made for play: sculptures that dare you, murals that demand a pose, a wall of glass that looks like frozen water.
I spent the afternoon doing exactly that: imitating sculptures, looking for the dance step hidden in the glass, sinking into a green armchair the way you learn a new house.
We ate facing the sea, slowly. Playa de Palma has that August light that asks for nothing in return, and at the table we talked about everything except work, which is always the best sign.
Places with real art are easy to recognise: they do not display it, they live it. Here even the lamps have character, and I very nearly asked one to dance.
Thank you to the Aubamar team for the art and the warmth. An unexpected stage.
